I was actually watching this for a little nostalgia the other day with my roommate and I was surprised I still found it funny. Other than it being kinda dated - like everything from the 90's - it was actually a fairly well done kids movie that adults can watch too.

As for the martial arts, it's actually all fairly plausible and well executed (coming from 10 years of shorin-ryu) for kids their ages. Someone asked me the same question that's also posted here - why do people keep yelling when they're attacking? In my class, the way we were taught is that when you yell (hiya, kee-ai, ai-uh, etc), it's expelling force and "spirit", like an energy. A good yell is just as good as an proper stance as deterring someone from coming after you in most cases. The only thing I can really think of to complain about is that Ninjas were assassins, not "good guys". -- Dated, but still good
